Agnes & Mical's Cherry Blossom Engagement Session

It's Cherry Blossom Season! And luckily we had the chance to photograph Agnes & Mical's engagement session at the one and only Branch Brook Park in Bloomfield, NJ. If you haven't heard of Branch Brook Park, it was the Nation's first county park open to the public. It is also home to the largest collection of cherry blossoms trees in all of North America, with over 4,000 trees and counting!
Agnes and Mical had no idea what to expect when we met at the park. This was their first professional photo session. Since I had scoped the place out earlier and have shot there many times, I knew exactly where to position them to get the best backdrops while making sure the sun complemented their posing.
They had an idea of what they wanted for their photo session since we had shared images that inspired her through a private Pinterest board we created. Since it was their first professional photography session, Agnes and Mical politely requested direction with their posing, which I was more than happy to assist with.
I got to know more about them as a couple as they shared how they met and even their romantic Christmas proposal. When couples talk about the love they have for one another, it makes their partners confidence soar, in turn creating genuine images that truly portray their personalities.
I photographed them walking alongside the water, sitting beneath and on the branches of several trees and even positioned them in front of a small bridge. We took full advantage of the landscape and weather. Especially since we had scheduled the session to capture the golden hour.
Agnes & Mical were an absolute delight to work with! They were all smiles and were totally up for anything. Including sitting on trees and walking on the edge of a stream. We wish this lovely couple all of the best throughout the planning phase and look forward to capturing their special day!
